ProData Announces New CvtRPGIV Package

Omaha, Nebraska - August 1, 2002

ProData Computer Services, Inc., creators of the flagship product, DBU, and a long-time IBM eServer iSeries software vendor, today announced CvtRPGIV, a product featuring a RPG conversion utility, program templates, and packaged with Bob Cozzi’s book, ‘The Modern RPGIV language’.

With CvtRPGIV, programmers can convert RPGII, RPGIII, and AS400 RPGIII source to RPG IV syntax and experience the power of the language’s newest capabilities. With each new release of OS/400, IBM adds more and more features to RPG IV, making it more important for companies to migrate to RPGIV. Those shops that continue to dabble with old versions of the language will get left way behind on the significant improvements and may face future compatibility issues. CvtRPGIV makes the move to RPGIV simple for AS/400 shops.

In addition to the conversion utility, CvtRPGIV offers RPGIV templates to aid in the learning process. These program templates are predefined models that can be either copied or used directly to create standard application programs. All programs have uniform interfaces and require little modification to functionality, creating a basis from which standards are propagated and learning is facilitated. File maintenance, subfile selection and reporting programs are some of those included in the package and aid programmers at all levels to learn by example and produce sophisticated high level programs.

CvtRPGIV also includes a MC Press LLC book, ‘The Modern RPGIV language’, authored by Bob Cozzi, a long-time expert on the iSeries AS/400 and RPG language. FREE trials of CvtRPGIV are available at www.prodatacomputer.com or by calling 1-800-228-6318 or (402)697-7575. CvtRPGIV is designed to complement other ProData productivity utilities for the iSeries 400 and can be packaged with DBU, SQL/PRO, RDR (Retrieve Deleted Records) or additional programmer tools offered by ProData.

Price and Availability

CvtRPGIV is available now for $995.
